Year in Review 2024: Better Done Than Perfect!

2024 was a year of transformation, learning, and growth. Choosing “IMPLEMENTATION” as my guiding word, I started a journey to turn ideas into action. From launching a long-awaited online course to embracing new challenges in my business, this year has taught me that progress doesn’t require perfection. Here’s a look back at the lessons, milestones, and moments that made 2024 unforgettable.

The Best Decision in 2024

For years, I’d been holding onto ideas for a course, waiting for the “perfect moment” to bring them to life. But as a self-employed perfectionist, I found it easy to overthink and procrastinate without anyone holding me accountable.

This year, I decided to change that by working with a business coach. I joined one of Sigrun’s programmes, and little did I know how intense and fast-paced her mentorship would be. There was no room to hide, Sigrun and her team held me accountable every step of the way.

What I Learned About Myself

In 2024, I finally launched the online course CAREER CATALYST which has already helped over 200 participants. This course addresses a common challenge I observed in my 1:1 clients, feeling stuck and unsure about their next career move, often trapped by self-doubt and imposter syndrome.

At first, I doubted whether I could create the same intimate and safe environment in a group setting that I excel at in individual coaching. But I decided to go for it, even though the course materials were far from perfect.

In April, I ran the course for the first time. The group’s energy was electric, with participants from all over the world. After our first group call, my self-doubt disappeared. I was amazed at how natural it felt to lead the group and how quickly I could foster a non-judgmental, supportive space where participants could share openly.

What My Biggest Challenge Was

Transitioning to a new phase in my career reminded me of a fundamental truth: success takes time and patience. Despite knowing this intellectually, it was easy to get swept up by social media headlines promising overnight results.

I had to apply the same tools I give my clients, trusting the process and staying consistent. Building a business is not linear, and I realized I needed to view Sigrun’s coaching program as a “business school.”

Coming from a family where entrepreneurship wasn’t the norm, I had to learn business strategies from scratch. While my entrepreneurial grandparents ran a successful grocery store in Kraków, Poland, the business world has changed dramatically since then!

What I’m Most Proud Of

This year, my business mentors often told me that I’m “coachable” and have a strong growth mindset. These are the same qualities I value in my clients: openness to learning and perseverance. I’m especially proud of my commitment. I showed up consistently, completed all my assignments, and celebrated both successes and failures.

Personally, one moment that deeply touched me was when my daughter described me as “loyal, wise, powerful, creative, and charismatic.” Hearing her words and realizing that my values align with how she sees me brought me to tears.

When I find a coach, therapist, mentor, or other practitioner who makes a difference in my life, I tend to stay with them. I’ve been one of Michaela Boehm’s students for five years now, and I was honored to be invited to join her advanced study group starting in 2025.

In March, I attended a two-week retreat with her in Portugal. The second retreat, Love, Lineage, and Liberation, had a particularly profound impact on me.

My Most Important Lessons in 2024

  • Better Done Than Perfect: I completed more projects in 2024 than in the last decade combined. Progress comes from action, not waiting for perfection.
  • Self-Worth Is Not Career Performance: I had to separate my value as a person from my professional achievements, a valuable reminder for anyone navigating self-doubt.
  • Parenting Is About Them, Not Me: Supporting my newly teenage daughter required learning to take nothing personally and giving her space to grow.
  • Investing in Health Pays Off: After struggling with sleep for over a year, I prioritized my well-being, investing in practitioners, supplements, and tests.
  • New Routines Are Always Possible: Practicing yoga for just 10 minutes each morning transformed my mornings from “I’m not a morning person” to “I enjoy my quiet mornings.”
  • Emotional Freedom Comes From Choice: Challenging family dynamics taught me the power of staying calm and detached, keeping my energy for what truly matters.
