Feeling Stuck? This Simple Ritual Will Give You Clarity
Feeling stuck in your career or life? Discover the simple ritual that helps ambitious women find clarity, reconnect with themselves, and make aligned decisions—without needing a big change.
The Pause You Don’t Think You’re Allowed to Take
If you’re an ambitious woman, you’ve probably been taught to keep going—no matter what. More goals. More productivity. More growth. But what if more isn’t the answer?
We move from one task to the next without breathing room. We try to plan our lives while sitting in the middle of chaos. And we wonder why everything feels muddled.
The truth is: you can’t make aligned decisions when you’re constantly in motion. You need space. Stillness. A sacred pause. That’s where clarity lives.
How do you break free from feeling stuck?
Feeling stuck isn’t always about lacking motivation. More often, it’s a sign that your mind is overloaded—and that your wise, inner voice has gone quiet beneath the noise of daily life.
Clarity doesn’t come from thinking harder. It comes from creating room for what’s already inside you.
you’re feeling mentally blocked or emotionally stuck, try this one ritual that’s helped both me and many of my clients: a Think Weekend. A pause with purpose. A way to slow down, listen in, and reconnect with what truly matters to you.
What Is a Think Weekend?
Inspired by the idea of “Think Days”—used by leaders and creatives to step back and think strategically—I developed my own version: the Think Weekend.
Every few months, I take a weekend just for myself.
No emails. No client work. No social obligations.
Just time to reflect, reset, and realign.
It’s not a holiday—it’s a reset button.
I usually go somewhere quiet, like a retreat hotel or a nature-based workation space near Berlin. I bring a journal, a yoga mat, and a lot of post-it notes!
Here’s my simple structure:
- I write for two hours in the morning
- I go for long, grounding walks in the afternoon
- I rest, dream, and let ideas rise without forcing anything
There’s no pressure to have a breakthrough. And yet—every single time—I do.
And the best part? You can adapt this to your life. A weekend at home with your phone off and your calendar cleared can be just as powerful.
How to Try a Think Weekend (or Think Day) for Yourself
You don’t need to escape to the mountains to get clarity. Here’s how to create your own Think Weekend—or even a Think Day:
- Take a full weekend off (or start with one quiet day)
- Turn off distractions: phone, email, social media
- Ask yourself: What have I been tolerating? What do I miss? What do I want more of? Less of?
- Let the answers come in their own time—without pressure
Clarity isn’t something you force. It’s something you create space for. And the more you create moments like this, the more you’ll uncover the answers you’re searching for.
What Happens When You Create Space to Think
During one Think Weekend, I arrived feeling completely foggy. My calendar was overflowing. My brain was fried. I’d been procrastinating on a decision I knew mattered—but I couldn’t hear myself clearly.
But after one long walk through the forest and a few pages of honest journaling, something shifted. Ideas began to flow. I remembered what mattered. I made the decision I’d been avoiding for months.
Stillness had cleared the clutter.
And I see the same thing in my clients. When they give themselves permission to pause—really pause—they start to hear their own wisdom again. They get clear on what they want, what’s next, and what needs to change.
You Don’t Need a Retreat—You Just Need Quiet
It’s tempting to think you need a fancy retreat or a perfect plan to give yourself space. But you don’t.
What you need is intentional solitude.
Even one day of digital detox and deep reflection can change how you move forward. This isn’t indulgent. It’s essential. Especially in seasons of transition, burnout, or confusion.
Because when you don’t create space to think, you live by default—instead of by design.
My Biggest Breakthrough Came from Stillness
One of the most powerful moments I’ve had on a Think Weekend wasn’t a “lightbulb” idea—it was a deep realisation. I realised I’d said yes to too many things that weren’t fully aligned. I was still operating from old patterns—people-pleasing, perfectionism, the need to prove.
That weekend, I made quiet, soul-aligned decisions. I let go of things that drained me. I reconnected with my mission—the one that truly lights me up.
Those decisions shaped the entire year that followed.
